NAR & our Tiny Designs Collection

Our UrbanPal collective began with the seed of NAR. Between our sisters, two are stylish and elegant and one is a free spirit who needs comfort with her style. Bridging our interests, we decided to focus on casual wear, and our next step was to find a way to keep Palestine included in everything we did.

Inspired by this vision, our sister Tala created a collection of drawings showcasing various symbols of Palestinian culture and resistance. In her own words:

“For the whole Tiny Designs collection, my aim was to bring little pieces of Palestine to life and share them in a way that was subtle yet impactful; in a way for people to wear proudly. Each symbol is embroidered on the left side of our items so Palestine can sit atop your heart, not just exist within it.”

Every Palestinian, whether living in the occupied territories or in the diaspora, knows the feeling of being harassed and intimidated simply for flying our flag; the same flag our ancestors flew and our people die for. Our flag means to us what your flag means to you. Patriotism is celebrated for everyone except the oppressed, but unfortunately for our oppressors, our people always find a way to channel our land - even if we have to do it with subtle references.

We believe in our flag, in our homeland, in our culture and history, and in our hopefully bright and liberated future.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where, although the collective consciousness is thankfully shifting in our favor, most of us still can’t freely express ourselves without fear. This collection allows us to bring Palestine wherever we go by subtly connecting with her symbols and spirit.
